Treehouse Art Collective is working on some new things.  Watch for TURNING A NEW LEAF.

Merry Christmas

"Front Porch", by Lynn Dickey hangs at the Treehouse.  This oil painting won Best of Show in this year's Bay Area Art League Show. We are so proud to have this piece in the Treehouse.  I can hear the spring creek and imagine the slapping sound of the screen door as it slams shuts.  It reminds me of my Grandmother's houses.  Lynn painted this on site in Comfort, TX.  Front Porch is waiting for someone to take it home with them.

 Grace Huang crochets amazing necklaces and bracelets with sterling silver wire.  They are beautifully crafted with fresh water Pearls of all colors.  She also adds other gems like Crystal, Coral, Turquoise, etc.  Each piece of jewelry is one of a kind.  Below are her beautifully crocheted bracelets.  These would look wonderful worn at a Holiday Party or as a special gift.

Norma and Bleep

Norma Gafford and Bleep will be in the Treehouse on Saturday Dec. 18th from 12 until 3 pm.  Come by and see them.  They are both very friendly.

Beautiful new glass windows

We love the new photo of the front of the store.  This was taken by our own photographer, Gloria Hunter.  It was early evening and with our new windows everyone can see in much better.

We have Guy Morrow's work in the Treehouse.  He is a wonderful artist and this lovely piece is called "Jenny's Pregnant".

Treehouse invites you to come by and see us during First Friday Art Walk and Holiday Open House the weekend of December 3rd and 4th.  We have Dr. Bahamon's calendars, Christmas ornaments, pottery, jewelry and wall and window art of all kinds.  Have a Happy and Blessed Holiday.

October 1, 2010, Treehouse Grand Opening

The food is out

The table is set

We have to have chocolate.  There are Seven Women in the Collective.  We must have Chocolate.

Desiree's Crab Dip is soooo AWESOME as always.  Thank you Desiree for sending this to us.  She is such a supporter for us and we love her.

 

All day we have had well wishers and friends come by to see us and we are feeling very overwhelmed with appreciation.  Now more and more people are showing up to support us.

Time for the Ribbon Cutting and Sherry Bercaw looks over the scissors that Kaye Hass made for us.

We start to gather outside in the wonderful courtyard at WaterStreet Market.  Gloria with the scissor and Pat holding up her end of the ribbon.

The dignitaries start to gather to welcome us to the DownTown Art District.  David Loeb(center right), with DownTown Mamagment district, was so glad to have another Art Interest DownTown and to introduce Mayor Adame (center left) also happy to have another DownTown Art Establishment, as well as (far left) John Vidaurri Director of the DownTown Management District.

Del Mars' SCORE has been a big part of Treehouse becoming a business and they were on hand to wish us well and be of assistance with our endeavor in the future.  Left to right Gloria Hunter, President of Treehouse, Robert Browning, Ralph Coker and Ben McDonald with SCORE.

Night fell and we still had more visitors.

Lynn was finished for the night.  She took it home a added a few more details and brought it back to the Treehouse.  Two weeks later it sold.

The down stairs has taken shape with jewelry, stained glass, fused glass, paintings and prints.

An Antique Jewelry case adds interest.

Our first customer, Sharon Duncan from Portland, found some cool earrings.

The day continues with Art Walk in the evening and customers flow in and find many different kinds of art.

We managed our sales smoothly during the evening and we loved having so many people in the Gallery.
